Bagh AJK

Location:-
                                                               Bagh
           In 10 district Bagh is one of the beautiful in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The total area of the district Bagh is 1,368 square kilometers.District Bagh is linked to Muzaffarabad by two roads,via Sudhan Gali (80 km) and the other way Kohala (97 km). It is situated 46 km from Rawalakot.Bagh (166 km. from Rawalpinid. At Bagh the district's headquarters is located.

The district Bagh is sub-divided into 2 tehsils;

Dhirkot Tehsil

             According to the Alif Ailaan Pakistan District Education Ranked at 2015, Bagh is ranked 16 out of 148 districts in educational terms .the district is  ranked 108 out of 148 for facilities and infrastructure.

Places to See:-

             Dhirkot, Sudan Gaili, Las Danna, Ganga Choti, Darra Haje-Peer

           Dheerkot is a facinating and charming place located 24Km from Kohala. Situated at 1676m above sea-level, Dhirkot possesses an healthy climate. The place is very popular among people mainly due to easy access, suitable altitude and beautiful landscape with Deodar  trees and kail forests.

                                In the heart of the calm and quite Deodar trees and Kail mixed forest, there is a posh Forest rest house, three Tourist Huts and a Log Hut, which are greatly sought after by tourists in summer. Dheerkot is linked with all parts of Azad Kashmir by black top roads and direct transport services are also available.


                  Sudhan Gali located at a height of 2134m above sea-level and a short distance from Bagh. This scenic spot also serves as a base camp for those going hiking/trekking to the nearby 3045m high mountain, Ganga Choti. 
                                To reached Sudhan Gali from Muzaffarabad or Bagh. It takes around a couple of hours to reach here on public or a hired transport from Bagh. Local transport for Sudhan Gali leaves near the Al-Noor hotel. The other option is to come from Muzaffarabad via Garhi Dopatta and Chakar. This option takes around 4 hours. There is an unconfirmed report of a proposed plan to develop a road and even a chair-lift from Sudhan Gali to Ganga. This might result in an increase of tourism but would definitely be a disaster for its natural environment and beauty.

Las Danna:-


             From Bagh, a 20km long mettalled road leads to Las Danna which is a place of captivating scenes and natural beauty. From Lasdanna, three roads branch off the main road i.e. Mahmood gali-Palangi, Haji pir- Aliabad and Abbasspur- Hajira respectively. A rest houses and a dhabas ( small restaurant )is available here.

Ganga Choti:-
                   Ganga Peak, more commonly known as Ganga Choti among locals is located in the Bagh Azad Kashmir. It is also visible from Bagh city and is often called as the Crown of Bagh. Ganga Choti is approachable from Sudhan Gali,Bagh, it s take time 3 hours and it is strenous trek since you have to gain hight at every step, there is very rare flat grounds here. Ganga Choti is a scenic peak village Bani Minhasan in Bagh Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. 
                                                              It is 10200 feet (3045 meters) high. It is an attraction for tourists in that area. It is situated in the Pir Panjal Range.Ganga Choti starts from the town of Sudhan Gali which is at a height of 2200 meters from sea level. From there, the peak can be reached through a 3-4 hours easy hike. People in Chanari climb Ganga from that side.The hike  to Ganga offers some very nice views of the valley and meadows. From the peak one can have a 360 degree panoramic view of the whole area. The nearest peak higher from Ganga Peak is called Pir Kanthi, which is at an aerial disttance of about 10 km from it. In winters the whole area is covered by snow so the best time to visit it is from April to August.


Sahlian Maldialan -
 Village with a population of almost 10,000, 2 km from Bagh in Azad Kashmir. It is surrounded by Nala Maahl, Vill Dharay, Naryola and Singhola. Its total land is 22,000 kanals. It has a forest covering an area of almost 5000 kanals. Its highest point is Blair Potha and its lowest point is Mung Bazar. A proposed ring road touches Sahlian Maldialan at Mung Sahlian via Mung Bazar Bridge.


Kafal Ghar - 
The native village of Amerr-e-Shariat Mualana Muhammad Abdullah, a great Leader that provoke the people against the Dogra government for freedom.


Nar Sher Ali Khan -
A Union Council 15 km from Bagh In the Bases (Daman) of Lasdana;


Mahldara - 
A village about 8 km north of Bagh City.

Rehra - 
Rera village is located about 10 km from Bagh. It is located between two streams: Seri Kathi Mahal and Dullahi Mahal.

Thub Thakyalan-
One of places where a majority of people are Thakyal Rajputs. It is 22 kilometers for away from Bagh. Thub Thakyalan is the largest union council of Bagh District.

Bees Bagla-
 It is 25 km away from Bagh at North East and 8,000 feet above sea level. It is the central place of four sub villages,The people of Bees Bagla are well educated and qualified. 

Sudhanoti

Location:-
        Pallandri is the headquarter of District Sudhanoti.Its distance of 97 km from Rawalpindi via Azad Pattan and is also connected with Rawalakot by 64 km.The district is bounded by Poonch District in the north, Kotli in the south, and Punjab in the west.

Pallandri
     Pallandri is a small town, situated in the Sudhnati District, in Azad Kashmir.Sometimes, the town's new name of Sudhnuti is still used but mostly people use its old name Pallandri.


DC House:-
      One of the most known important and historical building in Pallandri is The DC House.It was built in 1915 by Maraja Poonch, the then ruler of the Poonch State in Pallandri, he chose to put it on the very top of the town so he could see the Million Dollar view.It was known as Rani ka bangla/dak bangla the Maraja and his wife/Rani used to stay here while on thier way from Poonch to Rawalpindi.In 1947, this Poonch state was also divided into two parts, one of them is in the Jammu and Kashmir and the second part in the Azad Jammu and Kasmir (AJK). It was then converted into the DC house were the DC started to live and since that day, It was known as The DC house.

Aliabad:-
      Aliabad is situated at an altitude of 50 km from Pullandri and 112 kilometers from Rawalakot.This place is covered, mixed forests of Deodar, blue pine.


Muzaffarabad

Location:-
       Muzaffarabad is the capital of Azad Kashmir,Situated at the confluence of the Jhelum and Neelum rivers. District Muzaffarabad is located on the banks of the Jhelum and Neelum rivers. It is 138 km from Rawalpindi and Islamabad and about 76 km from Abbottabad.Distance from Muzaffarabad to Rawalakot is 130 Km.


Education:-
      
        According to the Pakistan District Education Rankings 2015, Muzaffarabad is ranked 42 out of 148 districts in terms of education.

Black Fort:-
       The Mughals built this fort above the river junction but it's used by the army and is off limits to visitors.

Red Fort:-
       During the year 1549 the construction of the red fort was undertaken. The red fort was finally completed by Sultan Muzaffar Khan. However towards the end of 1947, the Dogra’s fled away leaving the fort wide open to anybody. the founder of Muzaffarabad city during 1646.It is surrounded on three sides by Neelum river formally known as Kishan Ganga. The northern part had steps leading to the bank of the river. The East side of the fort was very well protected from the hazards of flood waters but some parts in the north were slightly damaged.

Barsala:-
      Barsalla is located at a distance of 100 km from Islamabad & 40 km from Muree. On the way to Muzaffarabad it is only 3 km from Kohala Bridge that is entry point in AJK.In summer season cool water of river Jhelum gives a pleasant touch.

Pir Chinasi:-
      Peer Chinisi is located at a height of 2924m above the sea-level and 32 Km, east ward of Muzaffarabad.The views of the summit of the neighboring mountain peaks spell bounds a tourist. 

Shaheed Gal:-
       Shaheed Gali is situated at the height of about 1640 meters above sea level at a distance of about 16 km westward from Muzaffarabad. From Shaheed Gali is a trek of 4 Kms leads towards a wholesome spot namely “Sri Kot'.


Mirpur

Location:-
       Mirpur District is located at South of the Kashmir and is linked with Pakistan and the districts of Azad Kashmir through several routes.Mirpur city is situated at 459 meters above sea-level. Islamabad Airport which services the Mirpur region is 130 km away.

Education:-
       Mirpur has a well-developed private sector providing the education to all sects of the society.


Transport:-
        Local transport, bus,car,jeep are used for traveling.Auto rickshaws are very popular mode of transport for short routes within the city.


Places to See:-
       Khari Sharif Darbar, Pir Sayed Naik Alam Shah Darbar, Mangla Dam, Ramkot Fort


Khari Sharif Darbar:-
       Its 8 Kilometer from Mirpur. Jatan has become the main commercial centre for all Khari Sharif and half of District Bhimber. It is located at the borders of both Mirpur and Bhimber. 

Mangla Dam:-
        Mangla is a small beautiful modern town. It is situated at a distance of 110 km from Islamabad and is 15 km short of Mirpur City.The Mangla Dam located on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir.. It is the 7th largest dam in the world.


Ramkot Fort:-
       Ramkot Fort is located on the opposite side of the Mirpur Town and one has to cross Mangla Lake on boat to reach there.13 km away from Dina and 79 km by road from Mirpur,The fort is accessible from Dadyal town.Here boats are available for access to Ramkot Fort. It takes 40 minutes to reach there. 

Haveli

Location:-
       It was formerly a part of Bagh District, but it separated from Bagh on 1 July 2009 and become the ninth district of AJK. Distance from Rawalakot to forward kahuta haveli is  94 Kilometer. It is situated at distance of 162 km from Muzaffarabad. Situated at 5230m above sea-level.

Education:-
      According to the Alif Ailaan Pakistan District Education Rank of 2015, Haveli is ranked 17 out of 148 districts in terms of education. the district is  ranked 146 out of 148 for facilities and infrastructure.

Aliabad:-
       Aliabad (6,610 ft) is a small Hill station located at a distance of about 20 kilometer from Forward Kahuta. The area is lush green and due to thick forest cover, the atmosphere is very pleasant in summer. In Winter Aliabad witness’s heavy snow-fall and the road remains blocked due to snow for most of the time during December to March.

Lasdanna:-

Haji Pir:-
     Haji pir is a facinating and charming place located 15 Km from  Aliabad.Haji Pir pass provides a wonderful and wide open view of whole Qazi Nag Range in Indian-held Kashmir.

Hattian Bala

Location:-
       This is an ideal valley both the domestic and international tourists. Its district headquarters is in the town of Jhelum Valley. Jhelum Valley became part of Muzaffarabad District until 2009. It was announced district in July 2009.  Distance from Hattian bala to  Muzaffarabad is 39.8 Km. Distance from Rawalakot to Hattian Bala is 106 Km.

Gharhi Dopatta:-
       Its 24 kilometers from Muzaffarabad.AJK Government has established here an “Extension Services Management Academy (ESMA)”, which provides training facilities of international level.

Leepa Valley:-
      Its located 45 kilometers from Muzaffarabad. The valley remains open for domestic tourists only from May to November. A few places of tourist interest in this valley are:


Chinari:-
     Its located 51 kilometers from Muzaffarabad. it is situated on the left bank of river Jhelum.Some private hotels are available here.


Chikkar:-
       Its located 46 kilometers from Muzaffarabad.,With an altitude of 1607 meters above the sea level.A road branches off at Dhanni Baqallan, a place about 33 kilometers from Muzaffarabad and leads to Chikkar, For stay private Hotals are available here.

Zilzaal Lake:-
      Due to the earthquake of October 8th 2005 when the mountains collided very badly and got converted into heaps of rubble burying about 575 people underdeath.

Loon Bagla:-
     It is located 10 km from chikkar. Seeing hill station in the middle of dense green pine forests.

Dungian:-
     It is located 5 km from Loon Bagla. The beautiful tourist spot Sudhan gali can be visited from this place which is approximately 8 km uphill.

Danna:-
     Muzaffarabad to Kohala, a road bifurcate the highway and leads to Danna. From here one can go to Dheerkot, a known hill station in District Bagh.

Neelam

Location:-
     The valley is situated in the north-east of Muzaffarabad, Its evaluated at 13,000 ft above sea level.

Kail:-
         Beautiful village of the valley located 19 km ahead from Sharda. Its evaluated at  6,879 feet about see level. Few private hotels and a rest house of AJK Tourism Department located hear for tourists stay.

Sharda:-
       One of the beautiful spots of the Neelum valley located on the banks of the Neelum river.Its evaluated 6,499 ft at see level  Located at 136 km from Muzaffarabad.

Saral Lake:-
          Saral Lake is located in Neelam Valley, at an altitude of 13,600 feet. Sharda is the base camp to this lake.

Taobat:-
        The last station of the valley. It is 200 km from Muzaffarabad and 39 km to from Kel. Tourist hotel are available hear. 

Kotli

Location:-

      Kotli is the chief town of Kotli District, in AJK Kotli is linked with Mirpur by two metalled roads, one via Rajdhani, 90 kilometer and the other via Charhoi. It is also directly linked with Rawalakot via Trarkhal 82 kilometer.The distance between kotli to islamabad is 117 km via Sehnsa.


The district is divided into five tehsils (sub-divisions):

Hajiabad (Sehnsa):-
        It is located on the Kotli road, and is a midway point for the travelers thats come from Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Sehnsa is on the Kotli-Rawalpindi main road Azad Kashmir. between Pounch and jehlem rivers there is a 40 km long wall.

Khoiratta:-
        Khoiratta is a very nice place 160 km east to Islamabad. Khoiratta lies 28 Kilometer South of Kotli ajk. Its evaluated at 2570 meters above sea-level. 

Bhimber

Location:
Bhimber is a very beautiful city 250 miles in length with width varying from 10 to 40 miles. Bhimber is a district of AJK. The district is bounded by Mirpur district to the northwest (and is 50km from Mirpur city), and Punjab in the west and south. It also shares borders with Indian administered Kashmir to the east. Bhimber town is located at a distance of 50 km from Mirpur and 166 km from Rawalpindi.  The town is situated on the border between Azad Kashmir and Pakistan at a distance of about 50 km from Mirpur, about 48 km from Gujrat, about 37 km from Jhelam, about 166 km from Islamabad and about 241 km from Srinagar.

 It is linked with G.T. Road at Dina, a small town about 15 kms short of Jhelum city.This town is connected both with Mirpur & Gujrat through all weather black top roads

Baghsar Fort:-

Baghsar means a land of water and gardens. This beautiful place is 12 kilometres in the east of Samahni town and a same distance away from Jandichontra, its 975 meters in elevation and an ideal tourist resort in the Samahni Valley.On the top of hill is a famous Mughal fort overlooking the.lake that adds grandeur to the whole area.


Jandi Chontra:-

This scenic spot is situated at 17 kilometers from Bhimber and 67 kilometers from Mirpur. Situated at about 1000 meters above sea level, this scenic spot is an eastern gateway to Samani valley. It is 17 km away from Bhimber and 12 km from Samahni town.Population of samahni according to U.N is 0.05 million.

Poonch AJK

Location:-
In 10 district Poonch (Urdu: ضلع پونچھ ‎) is one of the beautiful in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.At Rawalakot the district's headquarters is located. Rawalakot known as pearl valley.Situated at a distance of 76 km from Kohala and 110 Km from Rawalpindi, it is linked with Rawalpindi/Islamabad via Azad Pattan and Tain Dhalkot and with Muzaffarabad via Kohallah by black top roads.
 Poonch district is part of the greater dispute between India and Pakistan.




Education:-

             According to the Alif Ailaan Pakistan District Education Ranked at 2015, Poonch is ranked 38 out of 148 districts in educational terms .the district is  ranked 140 out of 148 for facilities and infrastructure.

Transport:-
            Local transport, bus,car,jeep are used for traveling.Rawalakot Airport is non-operational, as there is no demand for the air service provided by Pakistan International Airlines. The airport has been closed since 1998.. And also soon Chak Airport will be use for travel by air, flight will be start Rawalpindi to rawalakot and it also may be Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad.

Banjosa Lake:-
         It is situated 20 km from Rawlakot at an altitude of 1981 meters.Word Banjosa is still undefined but according to local peoples, Banjosa words is hindko, consist of two parts "Bun" means forest and Josa was owner of all the Land of Banjosa. Banjosa has three main Marketplaces, R.A bazar, Miral Gala and Gale wala pir Bazaar.Nandi Lal a hindu teacher was a person who established first educational institute in Banjosa.

Toli peer:-
       Toli peer is situated at a distance of 30 Km ahead of Rawalakot. Its approximate elevation is about 8800 ft above sea level. Abbaspur, Bagh and Poonch River can be viewed from Toli Pir.Visits  for Toli peer during the summer months; the weather is generally pleasant but becomes colder from October through March. 


Shaid gala:-
          Shaid gala is situated at distance of 22 km ahead of rawalakot. Its on the way of Toli peer.

Hot Springs (Tata Pani):-
      Tatta Pani is situated on the right bank of the poonch river, at a distance of 29 km from Hajeera. Tatta Pani is famous for the cure of skin. AJK Tourism Department has constructed a tourist lodge and bathrooms for the convenience of the visitors here. Transport services for Tatta Pani are available from all important points of the Poonch, Mirpur & Kotli districts of AJK.

Darbar Aalia Nerian Sharif:-
          The holy tombs of Khwaja Ghaznavi and his younger brother are located in Nerian Sharif. The tombs are visited regularly and are constantly surrounded by much recitation of the Holy Qur'an & remembrance of Allah by both visitors and locals.
                                           Now referred to as Darbar Aalia Nerian Sharif, the area is recognised as a sacred land and renowned for its hospitality of guests. The Langar Khaana (public kitchen) is open to all, and the Mosque itself often hosts many events for Islamic education, It is also the location of Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University.

Azad Kashmir

Azad Jummu Kashmir ( AJK) is a beautiful place just like a Haven. Its known as Azad Kashmir  (AJK) extends from the plains of Punjab near Jhelum up through Mangla Lake to the foot hills of the Himalayas. In north side mountains 6000-20000 feet high to the sea level. In AJK three rivers the Jhelum, the Neelum and the Poonch are flow. These valleys are green and wooded.

Muzaffarabad is the capital of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, situated at the confluence of the Jhelum and Neelum rivers.
According to 19th century rule, Kashmir was a Beautyfull tourist destination due to its greenery. Only 200 passes a year were issued by the government.


.Azad Kashmir is part of the greatest Kashmir zone.which is the subject of a long-running Isuzu between India and Pakistan. Azad Kashmir consists of about 2667.The state are divided into ten districts.
